I like this watch. Saw the same at a duty free at JFK. Was priced $350. For the price of $45 buck that I got on Amazon, this was too good to go.
Its a little heavy, but looks good, and macho.
Works for me.
Would recommend if you can handle the weight ;)

The guy who cuts my hair is VERY fashion forward and constantly criticizes my sense of style. And I listen to him. Recently he said that I needed a "chunky" watch. I guess chunky is in, even though my non-chunky watch kept time just fine.
So when it came to buying a new watch I was VERY particular about what I wanted. It had to have the following qualities:
1. Quartz movement (no winding...just replace the battery)
2. Day AND date (as I sometimes forget what day of the week it is)
3. Functional bezel (I actually use it as a timer for parking meters and such)
4. Stainless steel (gold isn't my color, and I'm not into flashy dual metals)
5. Metal band
6. Easily legible time indicators (slim hour, minute, and second hands, and would have preferred 3, 6, 9, and 12 numbers, but I'm okay with the indicators of this watch. Besides, the date is at 3 o'clock and the fully spelled-out day is at 12)
7. 42mm watch body diameter (NOTE: This watch is 44mm. My wrist circumference is 7.25 inches and it still looks proportional, but guys with much smaller wrists might want to try on some other 44's before buying this one...it's BIG.)
8. NO chronograph, NO extra buttons on the side, NO little mini-dials on the face (if I want a stop watch, I'll wear my Timex Triathlon watch, and mini-dials are distracting to the overall look and so hard to read -- regardless of what they are indicating -- as to be irritating (at best) or useless (at worst).)
9. Price of less than $1000 (yes, you read correctly...I was willing to spend up to a grand for the right watch, figuring that a quality time piece will easily outlast its owner...that's why they are often heirlooms.)
I researched watches TO DEATH for a week, maybe two. I Googled online watch forums -- turns out there are some watch aficionados who are completely obsessed with watches, and they like to write about them and show pictures of their collections. (Very helpful -- thanks guys!) I looked at THOUSANDS of watches on ebay and Amazon, manufacturer's sites, knock-off manufacturers' sites...everywhere I could. Then I started compiling jpegs of the watches that seemed to fit all the criteria I was looking for. I ended up choosing the Invicta 5243 in silver (I've seen a picture of one in charcoal or black) for three primary reasons: First, it really did fit my requirements, aside from the size being 2mm larger than ideal. Second, it cost me only $75, which is downright cheap, particularly when I was fully prepared to spend another $925. And third, despite what I just wrote about watches being heirlooms, the fact still remains that, well, it's just a watch. The more I thought about it, the more I came to feel that I should not spend a thousand -- or even several hundred -- dollars on a fashion accessory. After all, if I need to know the time, I just open my cell phone. So this watch -- or any watch, really -- would function for me primarily as a fashion statement...male jewelry, if you will. For my tastes and budget, the Invicta 5243 is just perfect.
The watch looks terrific -- it's appropriately "chunky," and it's also classy. It keeps time to the second, as checked against time.gov several times over the course of months. I've not had it underwater (again, I'd use my Timex Triathlon watch for that), nor have I subjected it to shock or abuse, so I can't write about those issues.
It's a terrific watch, and I give it my most enthusiastic recommendation.

Yes, it could be for sure a bad decision of mine to purchase this watch, based on a battery of emails from amazon with killer prices on Invicta brand watches...Very very heavy, no way to properly fix the date, too much weight and size for my pretty normal wrist, no way to substitute even for a day my old Citizen Eco-Drive...well, wasted money...and the generic directions are useless for this watch...I repeat: My fault for listening siren chants singing about a real bargain.
